The people of St. Michael’s Parish come from a variety of cultural, linguistic and economic backgrounds. With all of our unique characteristics we are brought together through Christ and in Christ. We believe what Jesus taught, that God loves all in the world and wishes everyone to experience the fullness of life. Jesus also said that he came into the world as one who serves not one who is to be served and he directed his followers to follow in his footsteps. 

At St. Michael’s we try to be faithful to Jesus’ direction. Everyone, be they never married, married, separated, divorced, ordained, widow or widower; child, youth, middle aged, senior, employed, unemployed, physically fit or physically challenged has one thing in common, we have been given the gift of life. We thank God for this gift and the gift of his love made visible in Jesus as we celebrate the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist and as we reach out to help our sisters and brothers, near by and in distant lands, respecting their faith journey as we continue our journey with, in and through Christ. 

St. Michael the Archangel, our patron, knew the reality of evil and was able by co-operating with God’s grace to overcome it by remaining faithful to God. May we also remain faithful to God by co-operating with God’s grace and also be able to overcome the evil which exists in several ways in our own time. 

The direction of the Blessed Virgin Mary, “Do whatever he tells you.”, given in Cana needs to be heard today in every community. Jesus was very direct with his disciples when he told them “Love one another as I have loved you.” Let us do what he tells us in our actions with one other and in our attitudes toward all people.
