The Sacrament of Confirmation confers a character. By it the baptized continue their path of christian initiation. They are enriched with the gift of the Holy Spirit, and are more closely linked to the Church. They are made strong and more firmly obliged by word and deed to witness to Christ and to spread and defend the faith.

Dear Parents,
Grade Eight is the customary time when the students (who have not been previously confirmed) are invited to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. It completes the process of Initiation into the Christian community. Confirmation is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for spiritual growth.
Confirmation invites participation in the Christian mission and ministry, invites living the Gospel message. There is indeed a need for personal commitment to Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit.
Confirmation, builds on what was begun in Baptism and what was nourished in Holy Eucharist. . Confirmation is a rite of passage, implying full commitment to a Gospel lifestyle. It matures the soul for the work ahead. It allows the youth at this important stage in their lives to express their “belonging” to a larger body-the Church. It allows the community to express its encouragement to them.
We urge you to pray with your child on a regular basis. The entire parish will be praying for you and your child during these weeks of formation.
