The marriage covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnershop of their whole life and which of its own very nature is ordered to the well-being of the spouses and to the procreation and upbringing of children, has, between the baptized, been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.
Couples who celebrate their marriage covenant in the church come from a variety of backgrounds: (a) both bride and groom may be Catholic; (b) the bride or groom may be Catholic and their prospective spouse may be baptized in another Christian church (Anglican, Lutheran, Presbyterian, United etc.); (c) the bride or groom may be Catholic and their prospective spouse is not baptized (another religion i.e. Jewish, Muslim, Hindu etc. or without a faith community).
Couples wishing to "celebrate their love" in marriage should contact the Parish Office at least 9-12 months in advance.
